What is D3 level of care?
Levels of care are essentially types of residential care in New Zealand for older adults.
Currently there are four ‘levels of care’ in NZ. They are Rest Home, Hospital, Rest Home Dementia and Psychogeriatric Specialist Hospital Care. The range of needs within these levels can differ widely.
D3 is an older term that may be used in parts of the South Island. It is a term that describes Rest Home Dementia level of care, shown as Dementia Care (Secure) or just Dementia Care, on Eldernet Residential Care.
