About Elmswood Retirement Village
Elmswood Village is centrally located in Christchurch, we are literally 15 minutes from almost anywhere – close to town and Fendalton Village, a short drive to the airport, and easy to reach for families as they travel to and from home and work. Our luxurious and comfortable boutique village is privately and locally owned, therefore close attention is paid to the smooth day to day running of the village.
Set amongst tranquil and established gardens, our spacious village offers a wide variety of living options from the independence of our stunning villas through to serviced apartments. We offer rest home level care, as well as personalised care in our newly built hospital. Our residents say, not having to worry about going somewhere else if they need extra care, brings them great peace of mind.

Mythbusting - Retirement Villages are a rip-off
Why it’s considered a worthwhile investment.
NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who 'buy' into a retirement village. If you intend to 'purchase' you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.
In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
