Respite care at Eldernet Showcase provides a calming, restorative, and fully supported short-term stay for older people who need temporary care, recovery time, or a safe place while their usual carer takes a well-earned break. From the moment a respite guest arrives, our team focuses on comfort, dignity, and helping them feel at home. Each guest enjoys a warm welcome, a personalised care plan, and a bright, comfortable private room set up to meet their needs and preferences.

During their stay, respite guests receive the same high standard of personalised, compassionate care as our long-term residents. Our dedicated team is available 24/7 to provide assistance with daily tasks, medication support, mobility needs, and wellbeing monitoring. For those recovering from illness or surgery, we work closely with health professionals and whānau to ensure continuity, safety, and peace of mind.

Meals are freshly prepared, nutritious, and tailored to dietary needs, and guests are encouraged to enjoy them in our social dining areas or privately in their room—whatever feels most comfortable. Respite guests are invited to take part in our vibrant activity programme, which includes crafts, music, exercise sessions, gardening, cultural events, games, and quiet wellbeing activities. Participation is always optional, but many guests find that even a short stay helps them reconnect, build confidence, and enjoy new routines.

Families often tell us that respite care at Eldernet Showcase gives them reassurance, rest, and the chance to recharge while knowing their loved one is safe, supported, and treated with genuine kindness. Whether a stay is just a few days or several weeks, we aim to make the experience relaxing, enjoyable, and truly beneficial. For many, respite care also provides a gentle introduction to care home life, helping them ease into a new environment at their own pace.

At Eldernet Showcase, every respite stay is centred on wellbeing, connection, and comfort—ensuring each guest feels valued, supported, and warmly welcomed throughout their time with us.
