About Eldernet Showcase
Eldernet Showcase is a warm, modern, and people-centred rest home designed to provide exceptional care and genuine comfort for older New Zealanders. Nestled in a peaceful suburban setting, our home blends the reassurance of professional support with the calm, homelike atmosphere that every resident deserves.
From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll notice the welcoming energy, friendly faces, and thoughtful touches that make Eldernet Showcase a place where residents feel truly valued. Our philosophy is simple: your life, your way, supported with dignity and respect. We understand that every resident arrives with unique experiences, preferences, and needs. That’s why we take the time to get to know each person—what brings them joy, what gives them confidence, and what matters most to them. This forms the foundation of a personalised care plan that adapts as needs change, ensuring the right level of support at every stage.
Residents enjoy their own private, comfortable rooms, each designed with warmth and functionality in mind. Whether choosing a standard room, premium room, or care suite, every option provides a safe, restful space complemented by thoughtful storage, natural light, and easy access to shared areas. Our home features beautifully furnished lounges, cosy quiet corners, and bright dining spaces where residents can enjoy nutritious meals prepared fresh each day.
At Eldernet Showcase, meaningful activity is at the heart of daily life. Our lifestyle team offers a diverse programme of social, creative, cultural, and physical activities tailored to individual abilities and interests. From gardening and gentle exercise to music, crafts, and community outings, there’s always something to look forward to. Residents can take part at their own pace—whether they enjoy lively group engagement or quieter one-on-one moments.
Families are a vital part of our community, and we strive to make every visit welcoming and stress-free. Open communication is central to how we work. We keep families updated, listen to their insights, and partner with them to ensure residents receive the best support possible. Visitors are encouraged to join activities, share meals, or simply enjoy time together in our gardens and communal spaces.
Our care team is available 24/7, offering rest home, hospital, dementia, and psychogeriatric care. Every staff member—from nurses to caregivers, kitchen staff to housekeeping—is chosen for their skills, empathy, and commitment to resident wellbeing. We pride ourselves on continuity of care, ensuring residents are supported by familiar faces who genuinely care about their comfort and happiness.
Eldernet Showcase also offers short-term respite stays and trial periods for those considering long-term care. These stays provide an opportunity to experience our home’s warm atmosphere, outstanding care, and community spirit without long-term commitment.
With modern facilities, compassionate staff, and a strong focus on wellbeing, Eldernet Showcase is more than a care home—it’s a community where older people can feel safe, supported, and connected. Whether you’re exploring options for yourself or a loved one, we’re here to help you navigate the journey with confidence, clarity, and kindness.

Respite care at Eldernet Showcase provides a calming, restorative, and fully supported short-term stay for older people who need temporary care, recovery time, or a safe place while their usual carer takes a well-earned break. From the moment a respite guest arrives, our team focuses on comfort, dignity, and helping them feel at home. Each guest enjoys a warm welcome, a personalised care plan, and a bright, comfortable private room set up to meet their needs and preferences.
During their stay, respite guests receive the same high standard of personalised, compassionate care as our long-term residents. Our dedicated team is available 24/7 to provide assistance with daily tasks, medication support, mobility needs, and wellbeing monitoring. For those recovering from illness or surgery, we work closely with health professionals and whānau to ensure continuity, safety, and peace of mind.
Meals are freshly prepared, nutritious, and tailored to dietary needs, and guests are encouraged to enjoy them in our social dining areas or privately in their room—whatever feels most comfortable. Respite guests are invited to take part in our vibrant activity programme, which includes crafts, music, exercise sessions, gardening, cultural events, games, and quiet wellbeing activities. Participation is always optional, but many guests find that even a short stay helps them reconnect, build confidence, and enjoy new routines.
Families often tell us that respite care at Eldernet Showcase gives them reassurance, rest, and the chance to recharge while knowing their loved one is safe, supported, and treated with genuine kindness. Whether a stay is just a few days or several weeks, we aim to make the experience relaxing, enjoyable, and truly beneficial. For many, respite care also provides a gentle introduction to care home life, helping them ease into a new environment at their own pace.
At Eldernet Showcase, every respite stay is centred on wellbeing, connection, and comfort—ensuring each guest feels valued, supported, and warmly welcomed throughout their time with us.
View Our Respite ListingPalliative care at Eldernet Showcase is centred on comfort, dignity, and supporting both the resident and their whānau through one of life’s most sensitive stages. Our approach focuses on easing symptoms, reducing discomfort, and creating a peaceful, reassuring environment where every moment can be lived with meaning and connection.
From the moment a resident begins palliative care with us, our team works closely with health professionals, family members, and the resident themselves to understand their preferences, values, and wishes. Care plans are deeply personalised, ensuring physical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs are honoured. We take time to listen, to adapt, and to provide support in ways that feel right for each individual.
Our dedicated nurses and caregivers are trained in advanced comfort care, ensuring pain relief, symptom management, and gentle assistance are delivered with compassion and attentiveness. The atmosphere within our palliative care spaces is calm and nurturing, with soft lighting, familiar comforts, and the option to personalise the room so it feels more like home.
Families are welcomed as partners in care. We encourage whānau to spend time with their loved one in a private, peaceful setting, and we offer guidance, reassurance, and emotional support throughout the journey. Whether it’s explaining changes, helping process emotions, or simply being present, our team walks alongside families with empathy and respect.
Meaningful moments matter deeply in palliative care. We create opportunities for residents to enjoy music, quiet reflection, gentle touch, nature views, or time with treasured people. Our staff are attentive not only to physical needs but also to the small details that bring comfort and connection.
At Eldernet Showcase, palliative care is not just a clinical service — it is a commitment to honouring life, supporting dignity, and ensuring no one walks the journey alone. Our goal is to create a peaceful, supportive environment where residents feel safe and cared for, and where families can find strength, understanding, and comfort during this important time.
View Our Palliative ListingOur day programmes at Eldernet Showcase offer older people a vibrant, supportive, and engaging place to spend the day while enjoying companionship, structured activities, and gentle care. Designed for those living at home who would benefit from social connection, stimulation, and supervised support, our programme provides a warm, welcoming environment where every person feels included, valued, and respected.
From the moment participants arrive, they’re greeted by friendly staff who take time to understand their interests, routines, and wellbeing needs. Our goal is to create a day that feels meaningful, enjoyable, and tailored—not simply “scheduled.” Each person can take part in a variety of activities, including crafts, music, gentle exercise, games, gardening, baking, cultural celebrations, and quiet relaxation sessions. Activities are thoughtfully designed to support memory, mobility, creativity, confidence, and overall emotional wellbeing.
Shared morning tea and a nutritious lunch are provided, giving participants the chance to enjoy conversation and connection with others. For many, these social moments are the highlight of the day, helping reduce feelings of isolation and boosting mood.
Our team is present throughout the day to provide attentive support with personal care, mobility, medication prompts, and general wellbeing monitoring. Families appreciate knowing their loved one is safe, engaged, and supported in a structured environment that balances independence with gentle assistance.
Day programmes at Eldernet Showcase also offer important respite for family carers, giving them a reliable break while ensuring their loved one enjoys meaningful time with others. Whether attending once a week or several times, participants often tell us they look forward to their day, the friendships they form, and the sense of belonging they feel.
Above all, our day programmes are about connection, purpose, and joy. At Eldernet Showcase, we provide a place where people can be themselves, try new things, and enjoy enriching days in a caring community.

What's included in your fees and what's not?
Paying for care at Eldernet Showcase follows New Zealand’s national funding framework, giving residents and families clarity and peace of mind. Many residents may qualify for the Residential Care Subsidy, which is means-tested by Work and Income based on income and assets. Those who do not qualify pay the government-set rest home or hospital care rate. At Eldernet Showcase, all essential care services, meals, and day-to-day support are included in this base cost. However, some optional extras may involve additional fees. These can include premium room upgrades, enhanced meal selections, specialised therapies, personal grooming services, or involvement in certain extended activities or outings. We are committed to providing full transparency around fees, and our team is always available to talk through costs, eligibility, and what’s included, ensuring you have all the information needed to make confident, informed decisions.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who 'buy' into a retirement village. If you intend to 'purchase' you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.
In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
