What is the Aged Residential Care contract?

The Age Related Residential Care contract (often referred to as the ARC or ARRC agreement) is actually one of two agreements between health funders and providers of residential care services. These agreements define the national standards for the delivery of services in residential care facilities in New Zealand. These services are the 'must have' services for those requiring long-term care, ad must meet the person's individual needs as identified in the interRAI assessment and detailed in their Care Plan.

The contracts are: 

To ensure the agreement requirements are being met and that care is of a high standard, regular and spot certification audits are done.
