Soaking in the beautiful Bay sunshine, The Bayview is in the perfect location. With a family-friendly feel, fresh and inviting living areas and spacious Care Suites, at The Bayview you’ll quickly feel right at home.

Living in a Care Suite, you can enjoy the flexibility and control you're used to along with that bit of luxury you deserve. The best part is that once you've settled in, you'll never have to go through the upheaval of moving again. The care you need, whether it's Rest Home or Hospital level, comes to you in your Care Suite. A DHB assessment is not required for care that is paid for privately.

There is a choice of either an open plan bedroom and lounge, or separate bedroom and living area. Our larger Care Suites can accommodate a couple.

All Care Suites have a kitchenette with fridge and microwave, perfect for making a cuppa when friends and family visit, as well as a full ensuite bathroom and heat pump. You own the right to occupy your Care Suite so you can truly make it your own with your favourite furniture and treasured pieces.

Hop in the village van for a jaunt, you never know where it will take you next. Hot chips by the beach or off to the aviation museum, there’s an exciting new destination each week. Or if it’s music you’re in to, enjoy your own personalised playlist with I Love Music. Furry friends, cooking classes, Men’s and Ladies groups and theme days, there’s something for everyone.

Tender Sunday roasts, hot fish and chips and scrummy homemade puddings… our onsite gourmet chef will prepare meals you love including all the classic family favourites.

Great care is what we do and we’ve got the accolades to prove it. Oceania’s won the supreme award from the New Zealand Aged Care Association 3 years in a row, so you can be sure you’re in good hands.

Entry age 65 years, no referral required.

Interests & Activities
Interests & Activities
We provide and extensive activity program 7 days a week. All programs are planned in advance by our Diversional Therapist and the Activities team. We offer movie days, happy hour, crosswords, arts and crafts and many, many more. Also offered are visits from the mobile library and church services. We invite external speakers to address the residents on topics of interest and have a number of entertainers who provide music from pianists, violinists, singers, dancers - to name only a few.

All resident's needs are identified on admission and we ensure that they are slotted into the activities that are most likely to satisfy their cognitive, emotional and physical needs. BBQ's are organised regularly, weather permitting.

Residents are treated to van outings at least twice a week. Our Leisure team will take residents to parks, beaches, cafe's and mystery trips. We try to accommodate them being in nature as much as possible.

We find that interaction with young children delights our residents and therefore have children from near-by kindergartens and schools visiting where they provide residents with the opportunity to interact, play games and sing-songs for the residents.

A highlight in our residents' days are meal times! Our meals are prepared onsite by our Executive Chef and his team and we accommodate residents with specific dietary requirements as far as possible.
