We are a small family orientated home with a big local reputation, having served the Elderly community in Te Awamutu for over 30 years.
Words that are commonly used to describe us are: "small and homely", "de-institutionalised" ,"caring and helpful".

Registered Nurse Yes Joy has over 40 years RN experience and is the Owner/Operator of Te Ata. She is supported by another RN. For a small family rest home, this high daily RN to Resident ratio ensures we achieve maximum clinical safety for your loved one.
Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers Yes Our staffing rationale is based on a business risk management policy of providing staffing levels to ensure the health and safety of both our Residents and employees at all times.
Physiotherapist No A local Physiotherapist who has been approved as a preferred supplier to Te Ata is available as required
Occupational Therapist No An OT who has been approved as a preferred supplier to Te Ata is available as required
Own Social Worker No This service can be accessed as and when required to meet the needs of a Resident
Activities Co-ordinator Yes Daily activities, outings and socialisation form an integral part of our daily routine. We have 2 full time Activity Co Ordinators employed 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday to deliver our activities programmes.
Hairdresser Yes Weekly visits are made on site by an experienced hairdresser. Alternatively, Residents may prefer to use their own local hairdresser.
Podiatrist No A Podiatrist who has been approved as a preferred supplier to Te Ata is available as required
Dietitian No Te Ata has access to the services of a qualified Dietician. All meal menus are audited by a Dietician every 2 years
Kaumatua No The services of Kaumatua are regulalry utilised at Te Ata and are available as requested by Residents.
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor No Communions are held on site at Te Ata and are supported by ensuring access to all spiritual services for all Residents as and when required.

Special Features
There’s a lot of coming and going at Te Ata. Some residents come in for long term care, some for short term respite care,and some come for the day and go home at night. To make things more confusing we can even take our rest home care out to your loved one in their own home.

Come and have a chat with us. We will listen, and then assist you in anyway to ensure your loved one receives the best care package to meet their needs.
