Registered Nurse 24/7 Yes Registered Nurses are on duty around the clock. The Manager of the Residential Care Unit is also a Registered Nurse.
Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers 24/7 Yes The majority of our Caregivers have attained qualifications through the ACE Programme. All staff must be qualified and receive ongoing training.
Diversional Therapist Yes Seven days a week. These staff members co-ordinate the activities for the residents.
Hairdresser Yes At least weekly in our salon.
Podiatrist Yes A podiatrist visits the Residential Care Unit regularly every six weeks.
Dietitian Yes We use the services of a registered dietician.

Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor Yes Chaplains from various denominations are available upon request. there are regular services.
Other Personnel Yes Importantly there are are the kitchen, domestic, laundry and maintenance members of staff.

Whanau Room Yes This is the Quiet Room where ALL meet.
Rooms (Single) Yes All rooms are single with the all of them having their own en suite toilet and wash basin. Currently eight rooms have full en suite - shower / wash basin / toilet.
Rooms (Suit Couple) Yes There are no shared rooms however we have couples in residence who each have a room though one of them is a studio room allowing for use as a main sitting room.
Ensuite Yes Our new 40 square metre studio rooms have full en suite that allow for ease of use and "tons of room to swing a cat". All other rooms have ensuite toilet and wash basin.
May Bring Own Furniture Yes Our philosophy is one of 'Aparangi is the residents home'. The whole concept of our Premium and Studio rooms allows folk to furnish them either partially still using allocated furnishings or fully to their hearts delight with their own furnishings.

Pets In Residence Yes Henry is the current lodger. He is a lovely ginger tabby pussy cat. There is also a aviary currently sprouting baby budgies and finches.

Phone Access In Own Room Yes Those in original rooms may have this arranged through Telecom. Newly built or renovated rooms have direct dial phones with internet access. Skype is avaiable.

Residents Committee Yes A Resident Committee, elected by the residents, organises and facilitates the majority of social and interaction functions within the Village, as well as takes care of some grievances or complaints.

Rural Setting Yes Set in the North Waikato township of Te Kauwhata. It's 40 minutes to Hamilton and Manukau, an hour to Central Auckland.

Sprinklers Yes And to ensure constant water supply we have our own supply tanks. The Fire Service is also on the corner of the street next door to the Residential Care Unit.
Audit report available Yes We had our Ministry of Health audit in December 2014 and received a three year certification for both Rest Home and Hospital Level Care.

Shops   Just a short walk to the Te Kauwhata town centre.
Parks   There are two beautiful lakes within Aparangi Village itself.
Library   There is a large library within Simmons Hall, adjacent to the Residential Care Unit. As well as this, the Te Kauwhata Public Library is a short walk down the road.
