The Nurse Maude Hospital specialises in providing an inclusive, welcoming, residential community for people with complex support needs. The expert team offer the best clinical care, delivered with respect and compassion, so residents and their families experience connection, purpose and meaning every day.

We believe that open consultation benefits the patient, family, loved ones and staff alike.

Because we are small and quality focused our residents get the best individualised attention.

We are a non-profit organisation that has a 75 bed Aged Care Residential Hospital as part of its services, along with Hospice Palliative Care, Community Nursing and Home Care Services.

Our Hospital in the heart of Merivale offers the best care available, in large private rooms, with private ensuites.

The calibre of caring professional staff is second to none.

Our Hospital Doctor ensures residents receive appropriate medical and nursing care.He visits the hospital each week day and is available after hours.

Our on-site Allied Health team includes a Physiotherapist and an Activities Co-ordinator.

Our staffing levels are high and we are fortunate in being able to offer full expert care from Nurse Maude specialist staff including Wound Care, Continence, IV, Stomal and Palliative Care Specialists, Dietician and other key health professionals.

Our central location is great for visiting families, and the close proximity to Merivale Mall makes it easy for family to take Mum or Dad for coffee or a look around the shops. Wheelchairs are available for this.

We care for your loved one as we would wish to be cared for.

Pianists, one of which plays classical music - play to your requesst weekly.
Small library on site as well as regular service from one of the local libraries.
Entertainers - sing popular songs regularly.
Volunteers offer 1 to 1 attention eg newspaper/poetry reading and hand massages.Dog volunteer also visits.
Church services are held each Tuesday to which family/friends are most welcome.
Exercises - twice weekly excercise clases are popular with residents.
Sky TV - available in one of the lounges. The building is wired for Sky so you may arrange installation to your room directly with the Sky company if you wish.
Computer for resident use and wi fi also available.

Details about Meals Catered for by Nurse Maude's kitchen. Top quality meals with menus approved by Dietitian. Being a small facility, we strive to cater for individual needs. Home made morning and afternoon teas with a selection of sandwiches, muffins and cakes/slices.Hot cheese rolls are a speciality!
Staffing Qualifications and Details Registered Nurses on duty 24 hours, 7 days. Enrolled Nurses and Hospital Aides make up the workforce. Clinical Nurse Manager on-site five days a week (and on call at weekends), and a Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist visits regularly.
Associated Complexes Ready access to all Nurse Maude Services.
What's included in your fees and what's not All of the rooms in our facility are equipped with state of the art care technology to improve resident safety and comfort including a private ensuite; in room wifi; in ceiling hoists; and highly specialised hospital beds. A small premium of $15 per day is charged in some rooms. Fees do not include:- Specialist Services, Dental, Hearing Aids, Hairdresser,Dry Cleaning,Podiatry.
