Serviced Apartments allow you to live independently a lot longer, and the choice of support that makes life easier, like housekeeping and a meal every day. It’s great for you, and reassuring for your family, because they know you’re being looked after. Best of all, the continuum of care options open to you as your care need increase.

Apartments are in the heart of the village, with easy access to everything the village has to offer, there will be no need to go out into the elements to get a nice coffee from the café, get a library book, or participate in the activities that will be happening on that particular day.

In each serviced apartment there is a kitchenette with 2 electric elements, fridge-freezer, a separate bedroom and a private ensuite. Call bells in each room so that you can get help if needed – these are monitored 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

The Ministry of Health conducts regular audits of Residential Care Facilities. They can be found HERE.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
