About Wharerangi Rest Home and Village

Wharerangi Rest Home and Village logo

Wharerangi is located on Kaimanawa Street in Taupō, close to the open green spaces of Tongariro Domain, the lakeside walkways along Lake Taupō, and the nearby town centre. Its position offers beautiful access to natural scenery while still providing the convenience of shops, cafés and community facilities just minutes away.
The centre provides Rest Home, Hospital and Dementia care, supported by a compassionate team who understand the value of familiarity and personalised support.
Families appreciate how effortless it is to visit Wharerangi — often combining time together with a stroll by the lake, a visit to Tongariro Domain or a stop at the nearby cafés and shops. It’s a supportive environment where residents receive attentive care in one of New Zealand’s most scenic lakeside communities.
