About Wesley Home & Care (Mt Eden) - Rest Home

At Wesley Home & Care, everything begins with a simple belief: that later life should still be rich with dignity, warmth, purpose, and human connection. Our promise is not just to care for people, but to make each day happier, healthier, and more meaningful for the residents who call Wesley home.

We are not here to sell apartments, units, or lifestyle packages. We are here to care — genuinely, deeply, and consistently. For us, aged care is not about real estate or occupancy rates; it is about relationships. It is about knowing every resident by name, understanding their preferences, respecting their choices, and ensuring they feel safe, valued, and truly at home.

At our Mt Eden home, that sense of family is at the heart of everything we do. The owners are onsite most days, actively involved in the life of the home and personally known to residents and families alike. You’ll feel the difference in the warmth of everyday interactions, the laughter shared in our lounges, and the calm reassurance of a team that takes pride in caring well — not because it is required, but because it is who we are.

Care at Wesley is both professional and personal. Our residents are supported by an experienced nursing team and benefit from regular onsite GP visits, with care delivered in the comfort and privacy of their own rooms when needed. Meals are freshly prepared onsite using quality ingredients, with residents able to choose between Chinese-style and traditional European menus, reflecting cultural preferences and familiar tastes. Gentle daily exercise, outings, resident-led groups, and quiet individual pursuits all form part of a flexible, person-centred approach to wellbeing.

Our home offers welcoming shared spaces designed for comfort and connection, including light-filled dining rooms, relaxing communal lounges, and thoughtfully arranged areas where residents can socialise, reflect, or simply enjoy the day at their own pace. Participation in activities is always a choice, and individual routines, interests, and cultural traditions are respected and supported.

We also take great care in thoughtfully considering every prospective admission. Our responsibility is not only to the individual seeking placement, but also to the residents who already call Wesley home. Each new resident is carefully assessed to ensure that their needs can be safely and appropriately supported within a Rest Home Level of Care environment, and that their presence will contribute positively to the overall wellbeing of our community. We believe that harmony, safety, and mutual respect are essential to a happy home. For this reason, we prioritise suitability and quality of care over occupancy, ensuring that decisions are made in the best interests of all residents and our dedicated care team.

Wesley Home & Care is a place where care is not rushed, kindness is not rationed, and human connection is never considered an “extra.” It is a home built on trust, continuity, and genuine relationships — where residents are supported to live well, in a way that feels right for them.

  • Regular onsite GP, physio, and podiatist care with multilingual clinical support.

Other Key Information

It's not unusual to want to know more about payments and meals. We also invite you to explore the special features and activities we offer. If you have any other questions, please reach out, we’d love to hear from you!

What's included in your fees and what's not?

At Wesley Home & Care, many of the things that truly matter to residents are simply part of how we operate. Warmth, kindness, knowing residents by name, and maintaining a clean, pleasant, and welcoming environment are not considered optional extras — they are fundamental to good care and are included as standard.

The owners are onsite most days and take an active role in the life of the home, knowing residents and their families personally. We believe that genuine care, respect, and human connection should never come with an additional cost.

In terms of services, Wesley includes podiatry, physiotherapy, and haircuts within the standard fee. We also provide transport and accompaniment to scheduled medical appointments, subject to staff availability, so residents are supported safely and with dignity when attending external appointments.

When comparing rest homes, we encourage families to look beyond brochures and price lists. Take time to observe the environment, speak with staff and residents, and trust your senses — and your heart — when deciding what feels right.

Details about meals

At Wesley Home & Care, all meals are freshly prepared onsite in our own kitchen using quality, fresh ingredients. We do not use frozen meals or tinned food as part of our standard meal service.

Residents are offered a choice of two regular menus: one Chinese-style menu reflecting traditional flavours and cooking methods, and one more traditional European-style menu. Residents are supported to choose the menu that best suits their tastes and cultural preferences.

We also bake onsite, including our own gluten-free bread, as well as a variety of homemade treats provided for morning tea, afternoon tea, and supper. Special dietary needs and preferences are accommodated wherever possible to ensure meals are both enjoyable and appropriate for each resident.

Special features

Wesley Home & Care provides a high level of accessible, resident-centred medical care through regular onsite GP services. Our Residential GP visits Wesley every two weeks and, depending on individual need, sees residents personally and privately in their own rooms. This allows for more thorough, comfortable, and clinically responsive care without the disruption of transporting residents offsite.

Our GP is fluent in English and Cantonese, and proficient in Mandarin, which supports clear communication and culturally appropriate care for many of our residents. The GP is supported by Wesley’s experienced Registered Nurse team, who collectively speak Mandarin, Hindi, Nepalese, Samoan, Vietnamese, and English.

In addition to scheduled visits, our GP is available 24/7 for clinical advice. Working closely with our pharmacy, nursing staff, and Health Care Assistants, medications and professional guidance can be arranged and provided seven days a week as clinically required.

We consider this level of GP access and clinical support a fundamental part of quality residential care, and we encourage families to ask other facilities about the availability and responsiveness of their GP services when comparing options.

Interests & activities

At Wesley Home & Care, residents are supported to engage in activities and interests that are meaningful to them, reflecting their cultural background, personal preferences, and individual abilities. Participation is always voluntary, and residents are encouraged to remain active in ways that feel comfortable and enjoyable for them.

Many residents take part in a range of resident-led and staff-supported activities, including singing groups, poetry and reading groups, mahjong, church groups, and gentle exercise such as tai chi. Daily supervised morning exercise sessions are offered in the main lounge, and regular outings include shopping trips and visits to local libraries.

Wesley also supports culturally specific activities, with strong engagement from residents who enjoy shared language, music, and social connection. A monthly mobile library visit provides additional opportunities for reading, games, and group interaction.

Individual interests are equally valued, and meaningful activity may include quiet pursuits such as reading, watching television, listening to music, walking, or spending time with visitors. Resident preferences are respected and supported as part of a person-centred approach to wellbeing and quality of life.
