Tranquillity Bay Care is the family rest home at the top of the hill.
We believe that the more we care, the more beautiful life becomes.
Tranquillity has all the warmth, caring, and family atmosphere you’d expect from a place you’d want to call home.
It’s never an easy decision to place a loved one into care. Even if you don’t choose us, I’m always happy to have a chat and explain what the process looks like.
Short stays are welcome.
We’re an older facility with rural charm and magnificent views over Paura Bay, out to Mt Manaia and Whangārei Heads. We’re down-to-earth and real with our care — when you’re here, you become family.

Details about meals
A wonderful variety of home cooked meals are served daily. Residents' personal preferences are met and catered for as much as possible. The smell of home baking pervades the home and adds to the great atmosphere.

Life at Tranquillity Bay Care
Our activities are all about fun, friendship, and feeling part of the family. Everything is relaxed and voluntary — join in or simply enjoy watching the laughter and smiles around you.
With a Diversional Therapist and Activities Co-ordinator on hand, there’s always something happening six days a week — van outings, shopping trips, concerts, crafts, games, music, exercise, and happy hours.
We love making the most of our beautiful beachside setting with morning teas by the tide. Many of our residents are locals, so friends and family visits are always welcome.
At Tranquillity Bay, there’s always time to laugh, create, and connect.
