About The CARE Village
Welcome to The CARE Village; a safe place where residents live normal lives.
Our village feels different peaceful, safe and normal
We have 13 homes with 6 or 7 residents living in each house. The houses that each resident lives in is base on the lifestyle they lived in their formative years. Furnished in a way that they relate to. Living with other residents they may have normally been friends with.
There are four lifestyles - Cultural, Middle NZ, Simple Living and Classical Living.
The CARE Village provides a home for adults of all ages who are in need of care and compassion for the short, medium or long term in Rotorua.
In September 2017 we opened an innovative CARE village on the shores of Lake Rotorua at Ngongotaha. Modelled on the acclaimed Dutch De Hogeweyk Dementia Village, our village looks like small New Zealand town, and residents go about their lives as normal.
