About The Bayview

The Bayview logo

Close to Tauranga’s city centre, The Bayview offers options to suit different needs and budgets, with comfortable and luxurious Care Suites providing Rest Home and Hospital level care.

In a Care Suite, you can relax knowing you won’t have the upheaval of moving again if your needs increase. Choose from either a studio Care Suite with an open-plan bedroom and lounge, or a one-bedroom Care Suite with a separate bedroom and living area. Some Care Suites are large enough to accommodate couples, so you can be together – even if one of you requires Hospital level care.

All Care Suites have a heat pump and full ensuite bathroom, as well as a kitchenette with a fridge and a kettle – perfect for making a cuppa when friends and family come to visit. We also have options with private balconies and/or patios.

You own the right to occupy your Care Suite, so you can personalise it with your favourite furniture and treasured pieces. A DHB assessment is not required for care that is paid for privately.

In an enviable position overlooking the beautiful harbour and The Mount, The Bayview is set on more than 15 acres of park-like grounds. Around the corner from the expressway, just minutes from the city and with public transport outside the gate, it’s easy to balance an active social life and your leisure time. It’s also a breeze for family and friends to pop by or take you out and about to the shopping centres at Brookfield, Lakes Crossing and Bethlehem, or one of Tauranga’s famous beaches.

Entry age 65 years, no referral required.

We offer movie days, happy hour, crosswords, arts and crafts and many, many more. Also offered are visits from the mobile library and church services. We invite external speakers to address the residents on topics of interest and have a number of entertainers who provide music from pianists, violinists, singers, dancers - to name only a few.

All resident's needs are identified on admission and we ensure that they are slotted into the activities that are most likely to satisfy their cognitive, emotional and physical needs. BBQ's are organised regularly, weather permitting.

Residents are treated to van outings at least twice a week. Our Leisure team will take residents to parks, beaches, cafe's and mystery trips. We try to accommodate them being in nature as much as possible.

We find that interaction with young children delights our residents and therefore have children from near-by kindergartens and schools visiting where they provide residents with the opportunity to interact, play games and sing-songs for the residents.

A highlight in our residents' days are meal times! Our meals are prepared onsite by our Executive Chef and his team and we accommodate residents with specific dietary requirements as far as possible.
