About Summerset in the Bay (Napier)
A relaxing retirement village, set amongst world renowned vineyards, Summerset in the Bay is a welcoming community of energetic residents, young at heart. The village is situated in a sunny spot at the northern end of Church Road, near the iconic Mission Estate Winery and is built on former orchard land known as Citrus Grove.
The village centre is the heart of Summerset in the Bay. It is home to a range of wonderful facilities including the Divine Café, library, resident lounges and social spaces, hair salon, pool table, exercise room and indoor spa. Our village offers a range of villas and apartments for independent living.
One of the benefits of living in a Summerset village is knowing that should your needs change, a range of care options are available. Our modern care centre offers rest home and hospital-level care within the village (care is subject to availability, eligibility criteria). For singles and couples who wish to remain independent, we also offer support and care up to rest home-level care in our spacious serviced apartments.

Why it’s considered a worthwhile investment.
NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who 'buy' into a retirement village. If you intend to 'purchase' you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.
In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
