Details about meals

The main meal of the day with meat, vegetables & dessert is served at lunch time. Dinner offers a choice of soup, salad, sandwiches & a savoury dish. Fresh fruit is served.

Residents can request an alternative if the main dish is not to their taste.

Special dietary requirements are catered for. In keeping with Jewish dietary law certain foods are not offered e.g. pork and shellfish

Special features

Shalom Court is a welcoming, family-like rest home and hospital in the eastern suburbs of Auckland
It is a registered charitable society established for the care of senior members of the Jewish community and welcomes applicants from outside the Jewish faith

All rooms are spacious and en-suited. There are also independent cottages only for rest home care which are ideal for the more mobile and independent person

Breakfast is served a la carte to the rooms and the main meal (lunch) is served communally. Residents have input into the seasonal menus

A 7 day-a-week activity programme is offered
