About Ribbonwood Country Home
Ribbonwood is a small country home offering rest home and hospital level care. Located in the heart of West Otago in Tapanui, Ribbonwood is a place you will feel proud to call home.
Ribbonwood opened its doors for the first time in February 2016. It is a modern care facility with spacious, private rooms for residents and sunny lounges for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful views across the golf course, farmland and Blue Mountains. This charming rest home has a very intimate, friendly vibe as there are only 14 beds. As a result, residents have more personalised time with our highly qualified and experienced staff.
All of the rooms at Ribbonwood are classed as Premium Rooms with a fully furnished bedroom and ensuite bathroom.
Ribbonwood is owned by the community of West Otago via West Otago Health. The construction of our present premises was an enormous community project for West Otago's 2300 residents that was concluded August 2014. The combined purpose built facility houses Ribbonwood Country Home for the aged and the local Medical Centre. This means our residents have prompt access to a Doctor and services provided in the Medical Centre.
West Otago Health’s focus is to provide "whole of life care". This includes primary health care, emergency care, district nursing, allied health, palliative care and aged related residential care services.
