About Pohlen Hospital

Pohlen Hospital is a Charitable Trust Hospital which strives to provide appropriate health care of a high standard for the people of Matamata and the surrounding community.
Our commitment is to our patients and our goal is to assist you and your loved ones in any capacity you require. Our friendly professional staff will take the time to get to know you and your family, so your care can be personalized and you can be sure that your wishes respected.

We are situated in the heart of Matamata, with lovely gardens and views of the Kaimai Ranges. We have single rooms with ensuites and share rooms, all of which have outdoor access.

Dining room. Private area can be arranged for family functions. Special dietary needs are accomodated.

Interests & activities

Monthly meetings of the Arthritis Society available in Matamata, RSA within walking distance/in a wheelchair, cards, email access will be provided by office staff, exercises twice weekly, raised garden beds, views of lovely gardens, happy hour, able to access pool at town complex, good library facilities in the town, newspaper reading, quizzes, videos, outings (if a special event is on we will arrange for residents to attend).
