Special features
At Northanjer Resthome, we believe that the elderly are valued members of our society. We offer a relaxed homely atmosphere for 15 residents and this enables us to deliver personal and individualised care with flexibility and freedom. Being such a small home, we are able to really know our residents and provide the care that they want – if someone doesn’t like peas, they don’t get them!
We are so close to Oamaru town! We strongly encourage and assist our residents to maintain and create new links into accessing the community – we have a rest home mobility scooter that our residents can use at their leisure and several scoot down town to partake in different groups or even to just pop into a cafe or around to friends and family to visit. We are located on the main highway, enabling easy access for visitors, or trips to town and appointments. Whanau and visitors are welcome at any time.
Interests & activities
Our activity programme is run by our passionate activities team and overseen by our lovely Diversional Therapist, Kerri. Our activities meetings are held monthly and all of our residents are invited to come along to ensure that the plan reflects what they actually want to be doing!
