About Murchison Hospital and Health Centre

Murchison Hospital and Health Centre is a modern facility that provides individualised Rest Home and Hospital level care. With 6 beds, an experienced stable workforce we are proud to be able to offer a high level of care to every resident. Each room has garden or rural views and residents are encouraged to bring their own belongings to personalise their space. There are no hidden costs, all NP, GP, podiatry, physio visits and prescriptions are free of charge to the residents.

What's included in your fees and what's not?

Exclusions from the Services
2.1 The Services covered in clause A1 do not include the following services:
2.1.1 Customised equipment, personal care equipment and personal mobility equipment
2.1.2 Services such as those provided by dentists, opticians, audiologists, chaplains, hairdressers, dry cleaner, and solicitors.
2.1.3 Clothing and personal toiletries, other than ordinary household supplies.
2.1.4 Charges for personal toll calls and phone lines rented by the Resident.
2.1.5 The Resident is responsible for the safety, security, and insurance cover of personal belongings.
2.1.6 Interpreter services, if English is a second language.
2.2 If another person/entity provides any of the above services or equipment the Resident must pay that person/entity the cost, if any, for the service or equipment.
2.3 In the interests of the Resident’s safety NMDHB reserves the right to arrange the provision of the service or equipment being sought under clause 2.1 in the first instance. If NMDHB does arrange the provision of the service or equipment, the Resident will pay any costs or fees for the service or equipment provided by the third party.
2.4 NMDHB reserve the right to appoint a general practitioner who shall provide primary care services to the Resident. The Resident may choose to be attended by a general practitioner of their choice and who agrees to visit the facility and maintain the Resident’s medical records as prescribed by us. If the Resident retains their own general practitioner they will be responsible for any costs over and above that which we incur for their contracted general practitioner.
2.5 The resident is required to pay cost of any pharmaceuticals over and above pharmaceuticals prescribed by the general practitioner.
