"Kapiti Rest Home is our Residents home" - we provide a safe, family environment where each Resident's physical, mental and spiritual needs are paramount to the Management and Staff. Kapiti Rest Home is certified and is able to accept both private paying and subsidised Residents. We believe the essential components of "home" are ....safety and companionship, challenge and fun, purpose and recognition, respect and dignity. We want our home to be an environment where each Resident enjoys a lifestyle which they recognise as their own.

Big print books are available from the weekly visits from the Mobile Library.

Activity programme.
We have a well designed Activity programme which caters for diverse interests and for varying capabilities.
Bingo, Board games, Bridge, Cards, Care and Craft, Cooking, Craft, Entertainment, Exercises, Flower arranging, Games, Happy Hour, Housie, Jigsaw, Outings, Petanque, Pianist, Quizzes, Sing-a-longs, are some of the activities that our resident Recreational Therapist organises in co-ordination with our Residents. Suggestions for new things to try are always welcome.,

Visitors: Your visitors are welcome to come any time you wish. You can entertain them in your own room or in one of the two lounges, you can even invite them to dinner.,

Vegetarian diets are catered for by our cooks.

Shopping trips are arranged with our Recreational Therapist.,

We celebrate Nationally observed Anniversaries and Personal milestones with Parties designed for the occasion.,

You are able to have Holidays when ever you wish, likewise you are able to come to us for a holiday.,

Children are welcome to visit you at the home.

Canine friends. We can't really fit dogs into the home, however we do have a few with visiting rights.,

Advocate. We are happy to work with or organise personal advocates.

Age Concern, , Alzheimer's Society, Arthritis society, Greypower, Parkinson's Society, Senior Citizens are some of the organisations who visit us regularly.
