"I recently came across your Go with Grace website. What a beautiful website you have created. To have so much information about death and dying, planning, grief and support groups all in one place is incredible. My congratulations on creating a beautiful and respectful site." - Kathryn

Dying Matters Week 2026 Starts 7th September!

Dying Matters Week connects people across Aotearoa to start conversations in a safe space, learn from local experts and seek support to plan for later life and end-of-life and to navigate grief and loss.

Who do you know that needs support and advice?
Conversations about later life and legacy are some of the most important kōrero we can have with your whānau. However many of us find it hard to know where to start.

We all know someone - parents, a neighbour, an aunty, a friend - who would benefit from taking that first step. Planning for later life and end of life is much easier when we do it together with whānau and friends. Why not bring your parents, your caregivers, your workmates, your walking group or your neighbours and tackle these conversations together at Dying Matters Week events taking place across New Zealand from 7th - 13th September.

New events are being added to the website daily so we encourage you to visit the Dying Matters Week event page and select your region to start planning your week! You will find events in: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Gisborne, Taranaki, Manawatū, Wellington, Nelson, Canterbury and Otago.

This Dying Matters Week is focused on empowering you to make informed and meaningful decisions about the future, for yourself and for those you care about. We recognise that everyone’s perspectives, beliefs, and experiences are different, so we’ve created a range of ways for you to connect with and explore these important topics including talks with experts, expos with local businesses, workshops, Death Cafes, open days, grief walks, poetry displays and more...
