About Elmswood
Elmswood is located in the heart of Judea, a peaceful Tauranga neighbourhood close to local cafés, shops and the city’s waterfront. With mature trees, a large and secure garden space, and established homes surrounding the centre, it offers a calm and familiar residential setting that feels reassuring for both residents and their families.
We provide Dementia and Respite care in a warm, structured environment designed to promote comfort, safety and a sense of belonging. Our team is experienced in understanding the needs of people living with dementia, focusing on personalised care and meaningful everyday interactions.

We have a mixture of various sized rooms and some with their own toilet facility (not a full ensuite). Our spacious outdoor area is unique to Tauranga and provides a secure free access area for our residents.

We offer a range of Premium rooms in different sizes, each with varying features to suit your needs and budget. Depending on the room you choose, features may include an ensuite or Jack and Jill bathroom, a pleasant outlook, or outdoor access, helping you feel comfortable and at home. Elmswood offers Secure Dementia care only.
Our staff are specifically trained to provide specialist Dementia care. With all the comforts of home, our team caters to your unique needs, working with you and your family to provide a balance of freedom and security to help keep our residents safe.
Standard rooms are large enough for a single bed, a chair and a wardrobe or chest of drawers. The cost of a standard room is included in the Care Services Fee set by the Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora.
