CGM Research Trust based in Christchurch was founded in 1986 by Dr Nigel Gilchrist to give people access to a better quality of care and increase treatment options especially for the hard-to-treat medical conditions. Most of our trial focus on conditions which predominately effect older adults eg Alzheimer's Dementia, arthritic & inflammatory conditions, COPD
CGM Research conduct Clinical trials with the aim of improving therapeutic options for patients, particularly those with unmet clinical needs, and to find better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat diseases.
Clinical trials are an essential step in a long and careful research process to develop new medications and better health care solutions for today’s patients and tomorrow’s population.
All new medicines and treatments must be tested in clinical research studies for safety +& efficacy before they can be approved by regulatory health authorities and made available for use.

All CGM Research trials meet strict Ministry of Health guidelines, they are monitored by the New Zealand Ethics Committee and other governing bodies for the duration of the trial to ensure all participants are appropriately treated.
Service Description
| Clinical trials are an essential step in the development of new drugs and therapeutic options for today’s patients and tomorrow’s population. We run research trials in a broad range of conditions and are always looking for participants. There are many reasons to participate in a clinical trial at CGM Research: You will be helping develop treatment options for patients with your condition. You will have regular thorough assessments with our skilled nursing and medical staff. You will learn more about your condition and available therapies. You may have access to drugs and treatments not yet available to the public. You will have medical tests relevant to your condition. With your permission we will communicate with your GP. Current trial include Alzheimer's Dementia, COPD. Anti-Viral for at risk patients with COVID-19, Psoriatic Arthritis |
