About Bupa Whitby Care Home

Bupa Whitby Care Home logo

Residents always come first at Whitby Care Home. Dignity, respect and family involvement are our focus in providing quality care in a comfortable, safe and stimulating environment.

We often receive compliments from our residents and their families about the kindness of our staff, and the “little extras” that they so willingly do. One of our residents has no family to help with mending her clothing, so one of our carers kindly does that for her. She’s very grateful for the extra help.

Whitby is known in the local community for our homely atmosphere and for the excellent care provided by our friendly staff.

We make sure we get to know each of our residents well, so that we can give care in the way they like. Through something we call the Map of Life, we understand each person’s preferences, likes and dislikes, as well as the things that have been important in each person’s life.

We know it is very important to offer choices and to really listen to what our residents and their families want. Making decisions together is a very important part of our philosophy. It helps us make each day the best it can be.

Our care home offers peace and tranquillity, with views of the Pauatahanui Inlet, lovely outdoor living and well maintained gardens. It’s set on a quiet, residential street close to all amenities. We have strong community links and residents are actively supported by community groups.

We would be delighted to have the opportunity to talk with you about our care. Please phone Karin Hall, our Care Home Manager, or feel free to drop in at any time.
