We offer Rest Home, Hospital, Palliative and Respite care, supported by an experienced team who put personal connection at the centre of everyday care. Residents enjoy comfortable and modern Care Suites, designed to feel welcoming and familiar. Our approach focuses on preserving independence wherever possible while providing the right level of support as needs evolve.

You can be sure that you will receive high quality care regardless of the room type you choose. All rooms at Awatere are of a certified standard, guaranteed by rigorous audits. For more information on room types explore Eldernet's Knowledge Lab.
Our Care Suites offer space, flexibility and extra features. Suitable for either Rest Home or Hospital care, you don’t have to move if your needs change between these levels. All Care Suites come complete with a heat pump and full en-suite bathroom, as well as a kitchenette with a fridge and a kettle – perfect for making a cuppa when friends and family come to visit. You own the right to occupy your Care Suite, so you can personalise it with your favourite furniture and treasured pieces. A Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora assessment is not required for care that is paid for privately.

We offer a range of Premium rooms in different sizes, each with varying features to suit your needs and budget. Depending on the room you choose, features may include an ensuite or Jack and Jill bathroom, a pleasant outlook, or outdoor access, helping you feel comfortable and at home. Premium rooms at Awatere are only available for Respite or Palliative care.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who 'buy' into a retirement village. If you intend to 'purchase' you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.
In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
