Special features
Ascot House is a 27 bed rest home located in beautiful Devonport and close to all amenities.
This traditional villa style building portrays the grandeur of yesteryear yet is largely purpose-built to offer a range of accommodation options including ensuite bedrooms, single and double bedrooms while situated on half an acre of lovely gardens which overlook the Waitemata Golf Course.
Ascot House is licensed to care for varying degrees of disabilities and abilities while we also offer day programmes for those who are not yet ready to enter full time care.
We are dedicated to providing the very best of care for every resident and have excellent well qualified staff including our Registered Nurse Manager, all of whom have many years experience caring for the elderly.
Our resident house doctor visits regularly and we have an on-call 24 hour emergency medical service back-up, should it be required.
Special diet requirements are catered for whilst all meals are cooked on site daily including baking for morning and afternoon tea.
Throughout the week numerous in-home activities are provided for by our Activities Co-ordinator.
We have musical entertainment, exercise classes, walks, scrabble bingo/card mornings, regular scenic outings, concerts, even a weekly “happy hour”.
We would be happy to provide all the information and support you through needs assessments or onsite tours of our facility.
Please feel welcome to visit our facility and meet with the Facility Manager, Pat Dickinson (RN) or Operations Manager, Arby Manalansan.
Interests & activities
Both in-home and outside activities are encouraged. A number of residents enjoy clubs for the elderly like CMA and Prescott, as well as sports and hobby clubs with activities as wide and varied as croquet and spinning.
Throughout the week numerous in-home activities are provided for by our Activities Co-ordinator. We have musical entertainment, excercise classes, walks, scrabble bingo/card mornings, regular scenic outings, concerts, even a weekly "happy hour". Often however, we end up just sitting and talking. It takes alot to beat a good laugh and a joke over a cup of tea.
No one at Ascot House need ever be lonely. We have several long-time volunteer visitors (and their pets) as well as an Anglican minister and Catholic nun who visit regularly. If however a resident chooses not to receive visitors, their choice is always respected.
