Celebrating 21 years at Knox _The Sound Of Care
When Teresa first walked through the doors of Knox, she did not bring years of experience — just a willingness to learn and a heart for care. “I said to them, I do not have experience… but if you trust me, I will learn. The care is here, from my heart.”
They trusted her. That was 21 years ago.
Since then, Teresa has become a constant in a place shaped by change — new residents, new families, and the quiet rhythm of life that defines aged care. When asked about her favourite memories, she does not mention milestones. She speaks about moments. Like the resident who always knew she had arrived — not by sight, but by sound.“She would hear my voice and say, ‘Is that Teresa?’ Even if she could not see me… she knew.”
In aged care, it is the smallest things that matter most — a familiar voice, a gentle routine, the comfort of being known. Because that is what care is — resilience, compassion, and showing up, again and again.
“This is my second home,” Teresa says. “I can recommend it to anyone.”
“The teamwork is important. We are here for the residents — they rely on us.” And after 21 years… she still is. Thank you, Teresa, for everything you do
