Description
'OUR VISION'

At Millvale House we create a warm, loving and homely atmosphere, where each person is supported to experience each moment richly.

'OUR VALUES'

We strive to achieve this vision by promoting:

The uniqueness of each person

The immense value of each person

Openness, honesty and integrity.

In these ways, we enrich each person, the community and the world.

Dementia Care New Zealand is one of New Zealand’s highly regarded aged care providers.
We provide a full range of residential care including general rest home care, dementia rest home care, general hospital level care, and dementia hospital level care. At many of our facilities, a full continuum of care is available.
We specialize in person-centred care for people who live with dementia. This is the work we have passionately chosen to do.
We care for people in small, cosy homes with a loving, warm and homely atmosphere where each person is supported to experience each moment richly. Our small homes concept means that people with dementia experience life in a less clinical and more normalised, familiar way. Small homes that inter connect, also bring a sense of ‘community’ for a person with dementia.

We promise we will give your loved one the very best of care.

We promise we will cherish, nurture and love your special person.

We will be honest, open and trustworthy.

Millvale House is set in a pleasant neighbourhood with easy access to the gardens.

There are sunny spots to sit, pathways to follow and birds to watch.

The bedrooms are single and spacious. We encourage people to bring a few familiar things from home.

The lounge and dining areas are warm and homely. The dining area has round dining tables to encourage the sense of a family meal and a nice time spent together.

The entire home is soon to be redecorated.

Please see our comprehensive website for further information about Millvale House.

I would just like to pass on my gratitude to your team who are taking care of my mother. My sister and I talk every week and she always lets me know how gentle and kind your staff are at Millvale.
It gives me great peace to know that my mother is cared for well as she was a very devoted mother and it was so difficult for all of us to have her placed in care. I am so grateful for their care to my mother. I also work at a hospital so I know how important it is to have vulnerable people cared for. Please pass on my heartfelt gratitude to all your staff and all their efforts. --- A.M.

“My mother is a resident at Millvale House. I have approximately eight years experience in aged care working initially as a carer and for the last four years as a diversional therapist. From my experience, a home having great staff as well as a high standard of care are the two top requirements when placing a family member.

I could not be happier in both regards when it comes to my mother. Every staff member shows a genuinely high level of commitment to residents, motivated by a good heart. To observe my mother’s interaction with staff I can see how much she likes the staff and feels safe with them. This trust is essential and allows family members to feel as happy as they can about their family member being in care, especially in dementia specific care.

I am grateful to the staff for their loving care and support. --- W.M

My father was transferred from a stage 3 facility to Millvale Miramar a couple of months ago. My first impressions of Millvale Miramar were that of a calm and caring environment, where the mangers and staff members genuinely care for their residents. Each time I visit I am aware of this calm and caring and peaceful atmosphere. My father's settling-in period has been very successful due to the ability, knowledge and care of the staff. I have noticed the staff respect my father as an individual, not just as a Dementia patient. The Family Orientation meetings organised by Jan, have been very informative. They gave me a clearer understanding of how Millvale operates and of the support available for the family. --- F.B.
