What's New
What's New

The new Residents Recreational Area is a lovely setting which houses chickens and pigs, and 4 large vegetable gardens are now compete. The area has been planted out in NZ natives and native birds are now setting up residence there too. Families are encouraged to spend time down there with their loved-ones to enjoy the beautiful rural setting together. Interested residents will assist in tending to the vegetable gardens and picking vegetables for the days meals - giving people a sense of purpose and encouraging them to maintain or gain new interests.

A new Memorial Tree Garden has been planted next to the new car park. The trees have been selected by the families of those residents who have passed away, and plaques have been placed on them in memory.

The entire facility has been re-floored, re-painted and re-'lit' giving the home a much needed freshen-up. The upgrade has been done ensuring that the home remains a home, and avoids feeling like an 'institution' or 'facility'. Please feel welcome to give Belinda a call on 021 229 0707 to come and take a look!

The Ministry of Health conducts regular audits of Residential Care Facilities. They can be found HERE.
