All meals at Alexander House Rest Home are freshly prepared and cooked onsite, providing residents with nutritious, homestyle meals that are both enjoyable and comforting. A favourite tradition is our delicious Fish and Chips every Friday, which residents always look forward to.
Our menus are regularly reviewed and approved by a Registered Dietitian to ensure balanced nutrition and high-quality meal planning. We also cater for special dietary requirements and individual preferences, ensuring every resident’s personal health and nutritional needs are carefully supported.

Interests & activities
At Alexander House Rest Home, we believe every day should be enjoyable, meaningful, and centred around personal choice. Our dedicated Activities Officer organises a wide range of weekly in-house activities and social events designed to support residents’ wellbeing, independence, and enjoyment. Residents can choose to participate in as much or as little as they wish.
We celebrate special occasions and national events throughout the year, including Melbourne Cup Day, St Patrick’s Day, birthdays, BBQs, happy hours, and seasonal parties, with family and friends always welcome to join the celebrations. Daily exercises to music, quizzes, board games, bowls, cards, craft sessions, cooking, dancing, church services, pastoral care, and entertainment from visiting performers all help create a lively and caring community atmosphere.
