Alden Lakewood is situated in the suburb of Shirley and is Christchurch's only care home exclusively for people with Dementia. Our 36-bed facility is a safe and supportive environment that prioritises the well-being and dignity of each resident.
Our welcoming facility has a strong focus on sensory stimulation, with rooms and surfaces being decorated with special art and sensory walls. This creates a stimulating environment and assists our residents to engage their senses further.
Our fully qualified staff offer specialised dementia level care where residents receive security and comfort in our home-like surroundings.
Our personalised activities schedule is designed to combine levels of fitness, cognitive engagement and participation in engaging community events.

| We have rest home dementia level rooms available. With views of our lovely garden, all rooms are single occupancy in a family orientated setting, with no premium fees. We have our own cook on site that provides beautiful meals, and all residents on a Friday get to enjoy a Happy Hour. Our Facility has an RN on site Monday to Friday with exceptionally supportive carers 24/7 with specialty training in Dementia giving families peace of mind. Our activities team also provide a comprehensive activities programme for all residents to enjoy. | |
