We are an open facility which is set on a secure site so that if someone needs to take a walk they are safe from wandering away onto the road.
Family values Country living, being an individual is your right.

Hairdresser Yes Our visiting hairdresser who comes every 4 weeks or by appointment. There is also hair saloons in the Winton township.
Podiatrist Yes Our podiatrist visits every 6 weeks or by appointment.
Dietitian Yes We are able to access the dietitian at SDHB if needed. We provide traditional home cooked meals, and cater for all dietary requirements.
Kaumatua Yes We have an open and transparent relationship with local Iwi and Kaumatua.
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor Yes We have visiting Chaplains,Ministers & Priests who accommodate all religious and spiritual needs of our residents.

High Care Needs Yes We are able to provide a very high level of care with the support of our GP and at the request of community providers. We will not accept a resident we do not think we can care for in an appropriate manner.

Private Paying Yes We are happy to provide short term or long term care for residents who are finding it difficult to find accommodation in their own region. We are happy to assist arranging travel to and from Rata Park. Private paid post-operative care can be provided.

May Bring Own Furniture Yes Some of our residents have choosen to have only their own furniture and ormanents in their room. Residents rooms are their own to decorate as they wish.(Prior approval required from Darren please).
Single Rooms Yes Rooms are able to be self furnished or come furnished. All rooms do have a hospital high/low bed available to aid in mobility if required.
Shared Rooms Yes We have 4 shared rooms.
Rooms suitable for a couple Yes Our shared rooms can accommodate either 2 single beds or 1 double bed to accommodate our couples wishes. The rooms is large enough to also accommodate some personal furniture for a couple.
Alcohol Permitted No We are an alcohol free site
Pets In Residence Yes We have two pugs that visit most days.
Negotiate To Bring Own Pet Yes New animals are considered if house trained and up to date on all vaccinations. Residents animals are cared for at the cost of the resident who owns the animal. Permission for a new animal must be granted by the existing residents and home management. If the resident becomes unable to care for the animal then family must arrange for its ongoing welfare.
Phone Access In Own Room Yes A portable phone is available, residents may get a phone line put in to their own room if they wish.

WE WORK IN OUR RESIDENTS HOME OUR RESIDENTS DO NOT LIVE IN OUR WORKPLACE.
We are a small privately owned 20 bed rest-home. We pride ourselves on superior service and quality care that is affordable. Both Vicky and Darren have vast experience in acute and medical nursing. We endeavor to provide a high level of nursing care on site so the need to transfer is reduced significantly.
We believe our rest-home is very unique and unlike any other facility.
Our property is secure to reduce the dangers to wandering residents and our animal from the nearby road.
No extra fee's charged for our service.

What's included in your fees and what's not Fee's do not include meals out, extra personal Dr's consults (seen 3 monthly routinely and as required which is paid for by Rata Park), dentist, non diabetic podiatrist treatment If you are unsure please ask a staff member.
Staffing qualifications and details We have Registered Nurses, Care Givers (full and part time), a full time cook, all staff help with cleaning as part of their job, part time activities co-coordinator, part time gardener and Darren also helps with the handyman chores.
Details about meals Breakfast 08.30 - Porridge,ceral,toast,tea/coffee Morning tea - scone or simlar with tea/coffee Lunch 12.30 - Meat and 3 veg, dessert (hot or cold), cold or hot drink. Afternoon tea - sweet biscuit tea/coffee Evening Meal - 17.30 Soup and toast with a light meal such as savories or samwiches etc, plus cold or hot drink. Supper - Cheese and crackers tea/coffee/milo Staff are available to help make a snack.
