Description
Wharerangi Village is a new Retirement Village completed in June 2016 - enquire now.

The Village is in the perfect Taupo location less than a 10 minute walk on flat footpaths to the lake front and city centre.

It’s easy to meet up with friends and family at the local cafes and eateries, or to simply ‘pop in’ and shop at a number of retail stores and supermarkets whenever you feel like it. You can even watch local parades and events from your doorstep.

Take the stress out of your day knowing that your gardening and maintenance is taken care of. You can also purchase additional services including home cleaning and linen laundry, and if you don’t feel like cooking – order a delicious home cooked meal*.

The Village Community Centre is the hub of the village. It’s a great place to socialise all year round with comfy seating. Relax and watch SKY on the big screen TV, or take advantage of the kitchen for a social village meal - or even personal events - such as birthdays and anniversaries.

As part of your package there is a weekly shopping trip. You’re also welcome to join in for regular events and trips to local and regional places of interest*.

*Services, trips and events may incur an additional fee
Testimonials
It’s less than half the size of the village I’d lived in before, but it feels like I have more space. And you get the sun all day which is nice. The location was another big drawcard. My friends say isn’t it fantastic that I’m just two blocks from town. The RSA, my doctor, the shops – they’re all within walking distance. There’s a big park at the lake end of the street and from my patio I can see the mountains. I felt comfortable here right from the start. I’m really looking forward to it.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet. The DHB Shared Services website provides additional information about this service.
