Description
If you’re looking for the perfect balance for retirement living, Awatere ticks all the boxes. Our friendly close-knit community provides plenty of opportunities for recreation and social engagements, and being centrally located in the heart of Beerescourt, all the amenities you could need are close at hand.

Our Village Living Offering
Whether you like to entertain, or simply enjoy your own space, you’ll love the relaxed feel and open-plan living at Awatere. There is a choice of apartments to suit your individual needs and lifestyle with 1 and 2 bedroom options. We currently have a new apartment block and community centre under construction that will offer 2 and 2+ bedroom apartments.

Active Village Life
Many of our residents are active in the community enjoying social activities at local clubs and societies. Handy to highways and arterial routes, and with public transport outside the gate, it’s a breeze to get to local shopping centres or eateries. If you don’t feel like venturing very far, there is plenty to do right on your doorstep in the community lounge – from guest speakers and exercise classes, to Happy Hour and themed events.

Activities Programme
The Village Manager is available Monday to Friday and offers a varied and interesting programme that all village residents are encouraged to join. A ‘Good Morning’ programme is arranged every Thursday in the apartments’ atrium; residents enjoy a social get-together with refreshments, and often includes guest speakers and community involvement. A Weekly exercise class is held under the guidance of an instructor organised through Sport Waikato. On Friday afternoons we have a 'Happy Hour' in the atrium which is open to all Village Residents to attend.

Carefree Independence
Live life the way you want to, with the freedom to do the things you love. We’ll take care of all the maintenance - building repairs, exterior cleaning and the gardening too. Knowing the weekly fee is fixed for life means you can budget and have financial surety for the future.

A Continuum of Care
If your needs change, Awatere has new luxury Care Suites for Rest Home and Hospital care onsite with preferential entry for Awatere residents. You can be sure you’re in good hands. Oceania has won the Supreme Care Award from the NZ Aged Care Association 3 years in a row.

Minimum age of entry for residents is 70 years.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
