Our 1 & 2 bedroom apartment features:

Whether you like to entertain, or simply enjoy your own space, you’ll love the relaxed feel and open-plan living at Awatere. There is a choice of apartments to suit your individual needs and lifestyle, with both one and two-bedroom options available. We currently have a new apartment block under construction that will offer two and two-plus-bedroom apartments.

Nestled near Milne Park and the banks of the Waikato River, you can enjoy that perfect balance of city and suburban living.

Handy to highways and arterial routes, and with public transport outside the gate, it’s a breeze for friends and family to visit, or to take you out to local shopping centres or eateries.

Social/Recreational Programme Yes A comprehensive daily programme is available Monday - Friday in the Woodlands complex. Including a weekly Happy Hour, Guest Speakers, Bingo, Quiz Group, weekly shopping trips and regular Village Trips .
Community Complex Yes All residents are welcome to use the Atrium and lounge to meet.
Emergency Call System Yes A medical pendant is provided for each apartment, which is connected to our Registered Nurses by pager in the hospital facility. They in turn respond to the calls.
Newsletter Yes The village activities calendar is distributed each month. Flyers are displayed on the notice board in more detail to explain the forthcoming events.
Outings Yes Residents are able to utilise the weekly shopping trip to the local supermarket and village trips are planned regularly.
Transport Available Yes Yes for weekly shopping and outings. Public transport is available outside the main gate.
Restaurant Yes We don't have a restaurant on site, but meals can be purchased from the main kitchen.
Craft Room Yes While we dont have a designated craft room, a number of residents use the lounge to complete the on going puzzles left on display.
Library Yes Libary books are available in the atrium of the apartments with additional books available in the main care facility.
Lounges Yes A large lounge is located in the main entrance to the complex and available for the use of all village residents.
Gardens Yes We have a grounds person who maintains the main gardens and courtyards.

If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.
