Restrictions - critical visitors only
Awatere has the all-important trifecta for ideal retirement living - a handy central location, a small close-knit community and plenty of activities and amenities right on the doorstep. Nestled near Milne Park and the banks of the Waikato River, you can enjoy that perfect balance of city and suburban living in a comfortable and affordable retirement apartment.

Our Village Living Offering
Whether you like to entertain, or simply enjoy your own space, you’ll love the relaxed feel and open plan living at Awatere. There is a choice of apartments to suit your individual needs and lifestyle, with both 1 and 2 bedroom options available. We currently have a new apartment block and community centre under construction that will offer 2 and 2+ bedroom apartments.

Active Village Life
Many of our residents are active in the community, enjoying social activities at local clubs and societies. Handy to highways and arterial routes, and with public transport outside the gate, it’s a breeze to get to local shopping centres or eateries. If you don’t feel like venturing very far, there is plenty to do right on your doorstep in the community lounge.

Activities Programme
There’s never a dull moment at Awatere Village. Our social calendar is packed with regular events including weekly morning teas, monthly potluck dinners and movie nights, exercise classes, happy hour and bingo. We also hold several special interest groups including a craft group, choir and dominoes. As well as the weekly shopping trip, there are fortnightly excursions to a variety of destinations such as cafes and restaurants, scenic spots, or points of interest.

Carefree Independence
Live life the way you want to, with the freedom to do the things you love. We’ll take care of all the maintenance - building repairs, exterior cleaning and the gardening too. Knowing the weekly fee is fixed for life means you can budget and have financial surety for the future. If you ever need assistance in an emergency, call bells in your apartment will connect you to trained staff 24 hours a day.

A Continuum of Care
If your needs change, Awatere has luxury Care Suites for Rest Home and Hospital care onsite with preferential entry for Awatere residents. You can be sure you’re in good hands. Oceania has won the Supreme Care Award from the NZ Aged Care Association 3 years in a row.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
