Reviews
We have disabled our ‘feedback’ feature. We apologise for any inconvenience. Find out more here: I want to read reviews of rest homes
Our Aged Residential Care supports every resident to live a fulfilling life in a safe and welcoming setting that feels like home.
We take time to get to know you, so we can better support and care for you. We’ll develop a personalised care plan with you – to understand your preferences and help you to continue doing the things you love.
Your friends and family will always be welcome to spend time with you, and they can join in for meals and celebrations as well as pop in for a cup of tea and chat.
The need for care can be unpredictable, making it hard to guarantee that a care place will be available at times. Although we can’t always control availability, we encourage you to get in touch - we are here to help. People come first, always. That’s our Care Promise.

CARE AT WILSON CARLILE VILLAGE
Wilson Carlile Village offers Hospital Care, Rest Home, and Respite Care - all set in beautifully kept grounds at 562 Grey Street, Hamilton East, not far from Memorial Park and the magnificent Waikato River.
Located within 1.5kms of Hamilton East Shopping, Medical Centre and Churches, there is also a pharmacy, café and convenience shopping within easy walking distance.
Our Rest Home has several lounges and a spacious activities room. All bedrooms are single, the majority having ensuites. Our aim is to provide a warm and friendly homely environment. Caregivers and other staff are trained to meet the particular needs of those in their care.
Wilson Carlile Village provides a varied, interesting and meaningful activities programme, planned by our Diversional Therapist who is assisted by an Activities Coordinator and volunteers. (Diversional Therapy involves designing programmes to meet the needs of the people. The aim is to reassure or stimulate our residents and day care people, while at the same time enabling them to maintain as much independence, dignity and self-esteem as possible.)
Although our doctor visits regularly, some residents may prefer to have their own GP call on them as required.
We want all our people to have an enjoyable time. Our Care Manager is happy to meet with you, and to talk over any concerns you may have. It is appreciated if you take the time to make an appointment.

Special Features
Wilson Carlile House is a 59 bed stage 2 Resthome along with Hospital level care that provides an inviting family atmosphere. Although set in the heart of Hamilton East with shops very handy for our residents, our facility offers a quiet tranquil atmosphere in part due to the well cared for and secluded gardens. Our home provides single rooms, where residents may retain a number of personal items, such as pictures, photographs, television, telephone etc. (television and stereo equipment is also available in the lounge). In addition to this facility, The Selwyn Foundation is pleased to announce that it intends to acquire the Sunningdale RSA Veterans Rest Home and Retirement Housing complex in Hamilton. From 1 April 2010, the Foundation will assume management of the facility’s administration processes and general operations, with a view to finalising the acquisition on completion of a due diligence process later this year. |
