Excellent Attentive Staff and Facility

This Rest Home really delivers!
In that the staff right up to the Manager, are attentive to ALL the residents at ALL TIMES. The elderly there are treated with love, respect and dignity. The facility is safe and secure, with a new secure fence for dementia residents. The care of ALL is consistently to a high standard. No one is ever neglected. If you want a home environment which genuinely cares for your loved one, choose Torbay Rest Home!
Great activities and awesome, balanced food. Highly recommend!

Torbay Rest Home provides a quality, homely environment in which older people may live in an atmosphere of respect and friendliness and have their physical and psychological needs met.

Residents are encouraged and assisted to continue their interests maintaining independence in a supportive environment.

Nurse Practitioner Negotiable We have access to Waitemata DHB gerontology nurse specialist team to consult as necessary.
Registered Nurse Yes We have 2 registered nurses on staff full time Monday to Friday and on call.
Physiotherapist Yes A physiotherapist is available to see residents by appointment.
Occupational Therapist Negotiable Occupational therapy services are available through the Waitemata DHB Community Health Services.

Activities Co-ordinator Yes Our activities co-ordinator is available 30 hours per week and provides a varied and busy activities programme. We have regular activities meetings with other local residential care facilities to share ideas and knowledge.

Special Features
Torbay Rest Home has an extensive activities programme including exercise groups, games, trivial pursuit, visiting pets, 'happy hour', singing and entertainment, gardening group, mini bus trips.
Residents choose activities they wish to participate in and our activities co-ordinator directs the daily programme.
Some of our residents continue to attend regular community groups ie Stroke Club, RSA and Church groups.
The residents enjoy companionship from other residents and the dedicated, caring staff.

Torbay Rest Home is certified to the NZ Health and Disability Standards. Reqular internal audits assist in the quality improvement programme. International Certifications are the auditing agency used by the facility.
Torbay Rest Home has gained tertiary level for workplace safety with ACC.

Details re Meals Home cooked meals, fresh baking daily, varied menu (five week cycle with summer and winter menus). Dietition reviews menus regularly as part of quality management.
Staffing Details Several of the staff have been employees for more than 10 years. The staff are very committed to providing a high quality of care and take a lot of pride in their work.
Fees Details/Fees Do Not Include The fees per week for rest home care - $897.19 For a rest home suite there is an extra charge of $30 per day. More information is available from the office. Full details in our admission agreement.
