Welcome to The Village Palms
Nestled in the heart of Shirley, The Village Palms is a care home where warmth, laughter, and friendship come naturally. There’s a lovely buzz about the place — friendly smiles, familiar faces, and the comforting hum of conversations shared over cups of tea.
Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and private courtyards, The Village Palms offers both rest home and hospital-level care in a peaceful and welcoming environment. Here, you’ll always have the support you need, along with the freedom to enjoy life your way, surrounded by people who care.

A Place That Feels Like Home
Our care suites are thoughtfully designed to give you comfort, privacy, and space to make your own. Each suite has its own ensuite and kitchenette, so you can enjoy time with family and friends in your own private setting. Many suites overlook lovely garden views or sunny courtyards perfect for relaxing and sharing moments with those close to you.
With both rest home and hospital-level care available, you can feel at ease knowing you won’t need to move should your needs change. Your suite remains your own, a familiar and reassuring space to call home.

Life Shared Together
There’s always a sense of warmth and connection here. Whether it’s chatting with neighbours, enjoying entertainment in the lounge, or sharing stories over a meal, life at The Village Palms is about spending time together and feeling part of a community.
Your family and friends are always welcome — to visit, to celebrate, or to simply spend time in the comfort of your suite. Because at The Village Palms, this is your home — a place where you’re surrounded by care, friendship, and the simple pleasure of everyday moments shared together.

The Ministry of Health conducts regular audits of Residential Care Facilities. They can be found HERE.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who 'buy' into a retirement village. If you intend to 'purchase' you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
