Reviews
Given the current COVID-19 environment we have temporarily disabled our ‘feedback’ feature. We apologise for any inconvenience.
When it comes to everyday life, Highfield makes it easy with rest home care. We are a smaller home and we get many comments about our homely warm atmosphere Many of the well-appointed rooms all look out onto sheltered courtyards or landscaped gardens and come complete with a 24-hour call system and WiFi. We always receive wonderful comments on our meals that are cooked on site. There is always fresh baking for morning and afternoons teas too.
Part of the close-knit town of Timaru, Highfield is set amongst beautifully landscaped gardens, just a short drive from the town centre.
Highfield has a reputation for being a lively friendly home. Many of our residents love being busy and they are often found helping with the gardening , folding the clean washing and setting the tables. This year we had a group of ladies preparing the new potatoes for Christmas Dinner.
Activities and outings are very important at Highfield. We have varied activities and entertainment throughout the week and often entertainers come in over the weekends. Outings around town and the greater South Canterbury area are enjoyed by our residents especially when it involves a picnic or trip to a local café.
Quality person centred care is important to us. There is a house GP who visits weekly and as necessary and family are kept up-to-date with any changes in care. Highfield LIfecare has achieved 4 year MOH certification which is the highest audit result that can be achieved. We were also commended on quality projects that were identified as continuous improvements by the auditors.
We offer regular church services, hairdressing , physiotherapy, SKY TV and podiatry.
We would love for you to drop in and see us and have a chat about the care you or your loved one may need.
