About Beattie Home & Hospital

Beattie Home & Hospital is a trusted, community-focused aged care facility nestled in the heart of Ōtorohanga. We proudly offer a total of 58 beds across two facilities:

Beattie Home & Hospital, a welcoming and well-established facility with 36 beds, including 10 dual-purpose rooms that can cater to either rest home or hospital-level care, depending on individual needs.

Papakāinga Homestead, our modern and purpose-built Dementia care facility, offering 22 rooms, designed to reflect the warmth and familiarity of home while meeting the needs of those living with Dementia.

We provide 24/7 care with a Registered Nurse on site at all times, ensuring that residents receive timely clinical support day and night. Our team of experienced caregivers, nurses, and allied health professionals are passionate about delivering compassionate, personalised care that supports the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of every resident.

At Beattie Home & Hospital, we foster a strong sense of community and belonging. Our residents enjoy:

Beattie Home operates under the governance of the Beattie Community Trust (Inc) and is managed by Olive Utiera, a Registered Nurse.

Beattie Home & Hospital and Papakāinga Homestead offers an array of daily social activities for our Residents and Day-Stay Residents to enjoy. We believe in creating a vibrant and engaging environment designed to bring joy, encourage connection, and support the well-being of our community.

Our weekly activity programme offers a variety of recreational, cultural, and social opportunities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities. From music and crafts to exercise groups and gardening, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Day-stay visitors can join in the activities, enjoy a freshly prepared meal, and experience the warm Beattie community for the day. This is ideal for those still living at home who would benefit from social connection and light care during the day.
