Papakāinga Homestead is our 22-bed, secure, purpose-built facility for seniors living with Dementia. Designed to feel like Home, it features a warm, familiar environment with calm communal spaces, secure outdoor areas, and a caring, experienced and qualified team who understand the specialised needs of those with Dementia.
Residents receive compassionate, personalised care guided by dementia best-practice principles and cultural sensitivity.
Accommodation at Papakāinga Homestead consists of single rooms with hand basins and toilets; some rooms also include ensuites. We offer standard, executive, and premium rooms, providing a variety of options to suit differing needs.
A Registered Nurse is rostered 24/7 with regular GP oversight, and a consistent team of caregivers to ensure stability and trust.
Our team focuses on connection, routine, and a meaningful daily activities programme led by a Diversional Therapist/Activities Coordinators, supporting the physical, emotional, social and cognitive needs of our dementia residents.
