Tranquillity Bay Care is the family rest home at the top of the hill.
We believe in, the more we care, the more beautiful life becomes.
Tranquillity has all the warmth, caring and family atmosphere you would expect from a place you would want to call home.
It is not an easy decision to put a family member into a care home. Even if you don't choose us, I am happy to have a chat and let you know what the process is.
Short stays are welcome.
We are an older facility with a rural charm, having magnificent views over Paura Bay out to Mt Manaia and Whangarei Heads.
We are down to earth and real with our care. You become family to us.

All the activities are voluntary and designed to help people relax and enjoy a community spirit whether they are joining in or watching from the side. We have a dedicated Diversional Therapist as well as an Activities Co-Ordinator who put together a full Activity programme over 6 days a week. The residents enjoy going out on regular trips in our van to local destinations. We have regular shopping days in town as well as regular excursions to specific events and concerts in the Whangarei area. As we live in a wonderful, beach environment we spend time in the summer down on the beach having morning tea and barbecues next to the incoming tide. Many of our residents have lived in this area all their lives and enjoy having visits from nearby friends and family. We actively encourage a close, family environment.
