Queen Rose Retirement Home is a boutique, 29- bed rest home- level facility, owned and operated by QR 168 Ltd.

Our philosophy centres on promoting a high- quality lifestyle for each of our residents, fostering independence within a secure, comfortable environment. We recognise and honour each resident's individuality, treating everyone with patience, dignity, and respect.

We are proud to be the recipient of the Overall Excellence in Care Award and the Small Operator Award at the Aged Care Association/ EBOS Healthcare Excellence Awards 2024. These awards reflect our commitment to exceptional care and the dedication of our team in providing the highest standards of service to our residents.

Our dedicated team is the heart of our care. Each staff member brings genuine commitment and pride to their role, ensuring personalised attention and compassionate care for every resident. All team members have either completed or are actively pursuing their qualifications through the Careerforce Aged Care Education Program.

At Queen Rose we deeply value tangata whenua and our role within the community. We actively engage in providing enriching recreational and entertainment opportunities for our residents by collaborating with local organisations. Through these partnerships, we foster a strong sense of connection between our Queen Rose whānau and the wider community, enhancing the quality of life and well- being of those in our care.

MC works weekdays while Andrea works Wednesdays, Fridays, and one weekend. Together, they set a compassionate and professional standard.

Staffing qualifications and details At Queen Rose, we take pride in the reciprocal and responsive relationships we’ve nurtured within our whānau. Our team of dedicated Health Care Assistants are highly skilled and hold recognised New Zealand Certificates in Health and Wellbeing, ranging from Level 2 to Level 4. We are also proud to have a low staff turnover, which helps us provide consistent, personalised care and build strong, trusting relationships with our residents and their whānau.
Details about meals At Queen Rose, we are committed to providing nutritious and enjoyable meals tailored to each resident’s needs. Our kai is freshly prepared and delivered daily by CIBUS Catering, ensuring high-quality and flavourful options. Residents enjoy breakfast served in bed, as well as nourishing snacks and drinks offered between meals. All meals are individualised to suit personal preferences — including portion size, allergies, cultural requirements, or simply foods they dislike.
Visitor information At Queen Rose, we have an open-door policy with no set visiting hours — whānau are warmly welcomed at any time of the day. We believe in creating a home-like environment where residents can stay connected with their loved ones whenever they wish.
