Reviews
Given the current COVID-19 environment we have temporarily disabled our ‘feedback’ feature. We apologise for any inconvenience.

A Resthome that incorporates a philosophy that the home belongs to its Residents makes Anne Maree Court the place they want to be! Anne Maree Court is centred on the belief that the Resident is part of a much larger family/whanau, so families/whanau and friends are kept fully engaged in the care of their relative.
Our relationship with the family means we can call them in as necessary - eg to sit with their relative when the Resident is unwell or needs their family/whanau around them.
Families are welcome to stay and enjoy a meal with us.

Testimonials
Comments from the Next of Kin and Resident Survey in October 2018. Regular phone calls I receive are appreciated. The communication regarding any health needs has been excellent. Management and staff are conscientious in looking after my wife and I am more than happy with the efforts of all. I have never been unable to speak to management with regard to my wife's problems. Staff are always courteous, smiling, happy and welcoming. |

Special Features
Anne Maree Court became part of the Anne Maree Group of homes with the sister home Anne Maree Gardens in Avondale. The Philosophy of the Anne Maree Group, encourage the importance of fun and laughter and the belief that everyone has potential. The Manager of Anne Maree Court has a passion for education and dementia care. The Manager looks for the potential in everyone and seeks ways in which to extend the individual. This applies to staff and Residents, as the manager believes everyone likes to give their best. Staff are encouraged and trained to help Residents retain or regain skills. This helps Residents retain their dignity. It is a goal of the service to rehabilitate Residents wherever possible. The value of each person and the building of a caring Whanau/family environment is paramount. A simple but meaningful example is that everyone should be acknowledged as they are met or passed during the course of the days activities. Staff at the home acknowledge the importance of relationships during all the life stages. Companionship is therefore encouraged and staff know to respect Residents privacy. It is management policy to be very flexible in how services are delivered and aim to anticipate needs before they arise. The service is likely to be able to offer solutions to those situations that you may consider being ‘tricky’. We have an open door policy with regard to Residents and staff. Everyone at Anne Maree Court knows that they can speak to her about anything at any time. The building is ‘tucked away’ in a suburban street and was built initially as a facility for those with intellectual disabilities. The building surrounds a central courtyard area. Individual rooms have easy indoor-outdoor flow and are linked to the continuous corridor. Alternative access and egress can be made via the covered walkway dissecting the central courtyard. A thorough building and grounds maintenance programme has been implemented to ensure the safety of Residents, staff and their families. We believe all Residents are at risk of falling, strategies are implemented to minimise this such as exercise programmes and purchasing of dining room chairs with arms (so residents can get up from the tables easily) etc. Anne Maree Court is a multicultural community with staff who speak multiple languages from Indian, Tongan to Cantonese. You never know what the staff there can offer - contact the Manager to find out more. |

Interests & Activities
The activity programme plays a central role in the daily life of the home. The activity programme never finishes so activities are underway all day. Activities programmes include outside entertainment, as well as visits from the Outreach Society (pet therapy programme). With a Diversional Therapist on seven days a week, the communal lounge is never short of a game of golf, bowls or bingo. The options at Anne Maree Court are endless and staff are always keen to add to their big pool of ideas and games. |

Staffing qualifications and details | The service has a commitment to furthering contemporary nursing practice. There is a Registered Nurse 24/7. It is important that any staff members who are employed are passionate about elders. We look for staff who have a kindly manner, gentle touch and are ‘team players’. Staff are well trained having completed ACE training, Careerforce training, First Aid, OSH and Infection Control. Management appreciate all that the staff do and this appreciation is demonstrated in a variety of little ways eg personally acknowledging those who come up with good ideas and the giving of ‘Angel of the Month' awards. Management also provide free meals for staff. Team spirit amongst the staff is important. Everyone plays an important part with none more important than another.
Details about meals | We have a menu that caters for most dietary requirements. This runs on a seasonal basis utilising as much fresh produce and home baked food as possible.
