Hospital respite care

My husband recently spent time in the hospital at very short notice. The whole experience was made better than it might have been as the staff were welcoming and caring throughout his stay. He couldn't have wished for better care. For me, recently hospitalised and trying to recover at home, it was a huge load off me to hear each day how well he was getting on and how professional and kind everyone he encountered was. Highly recommended.

Ashgrove House

My Father Bert Murphy has been a resident Of Ashgrove House for approximately three years until today when he passed away. I cannot praise the entire staff enough for the care he received while he was there. they went far beyond their duties to make sure he was happy and cared for at all times. Over the last three weeks when Dad's health took a turn for the worse the staff could not have been more professional and helpful they not only took great care of him but also the rest of our family They could not do enough to help us in this very difficult time. They provided meals everyday no matter if there was 1 of us or 5 of us present at the time. I would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a place for their Parents or themselves. If I ever needed to go into a Resthome I wouldn't go anywhere else but Cashmere View.

Bupa is proud to offer rest home, hospital and secure dementia care at Cashmere View Care Home, in south Christchurch, very close to Princess Margaret Hospital. We have two dementia units, one with an occupancy of 24 beds and the other with 20.
Cashmere View is known in the local community for our homely atmosphere, and the excellent care provided by our friendly staff. Focusing on making each day the best it can be for your loved one is what’s most important to us. You can rest assured that the quality of our nursing care is very high. We want everyone to feel that Cashmere View is their home – friends and relatives can come and go whenever they like, and are welcome to share meals (for a small charge).

We have recently added destination points to the specialised Dementia units for our residents to enjoy and make use of.

We take the time to get to know each resident, so that our care can be personalised, respecting each person’s likes, dislikes and preferences.

We also have a retirement village on the same site, which can make visiting a spouse easier.

We would be delighted to have the opportunity to talk with you about our care. Please phone Elsie Copland our Care Home Manager, or feel free to drop in at any time.

Alternatively, our community liaison coordinator, Sarah (ph 027 273 2113), can help you with all and any information about moving into a care home, and about the choice of Bupa care homes in Christchurch. She’ll even meet you in your own home if you would like.
