Nurse Practitioner No 3 nurse practitioners from the DHB visit regularly,provide education to RNs and consultation for specific residents as requested.
Registered Nurse Yes Two registered nurses are on duty from 7am till 11pm and one from duty 11pm till 7am. Manager is a registered nurse and works Monday to Friday and is on call for staff at all times.A Charge Nurse also provides clinical oversight to the RNs weekdays
Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers Yes Our great bunch of caregivers are divided into two teams to look after a mix of resthome and hospital level residents under the direction of the RNs in either the North or South Wing.
Physiotherapist Yes Weekly visits and as required
Occupational Therapist Yes As required
Own Social Worker No But if required are arranged through the DHB. We also have two counselling students who both have considerable experience in the aged care sector visiting weekly to assist residents with social or counselling needs.
Diversional Therapist Yes Larrissa is a qualified DT and works full time and a recreation assistant works for 20 hours per week as well.
Activities Co-ordinator Yes One full time staff member and one part time staff run the activity programme from Monday to Saturday.as above
Hairdresser Yes Bev visits 3 days per week and has been doing so for many years now.She often brings Charlie her dachshund with her. Wayne from Wainui is the Barber who visits monthly and is well known to many residents prior to admission.
Podiatrist Yes Jenny Cousins Visits monthly or as required for residents referred to her by the staff. Staff will cut nails that are manageable for them and refer anything complicated to Jenny.

Two Recreation staff on site provide extensive programme from Monday through to Saturday. This includes exercise programme, bowls, musical entertainment, cards, scrabble, computer experience, art, cooking, craft, music, drama, bingo, quiz, crosswords, van outings, monthly newsletter, seasonal festivities etc.

Individual as well as group activities are catered for and families and friends are welcome to come and help or participate

Details re Meals All meals cooked on a 6 weekly rotating menu. Residents offered a selection of meal options and home baking. Individual tastes can be accommodated as can specific dietary needs.Family are welcome to purchase meals.
Staffing Details Residents are allocated a Primary Nurse on admission.This is the Registered nurse that plans their care and will do this in consultation with the family if the resident wishes.Staffing levels are monitored daily to ensure we have sufficient staff to provide care
Associated Complexes The Masonic Villages Trust has retirement villages in Horowhenua, Wairarapa, Palmerston North and Foxton providing retirement housing, resthome and hospital level care
Fees Details/Fees Do Not Include Hairdresser, glasses, dentures, telephone,newspapers, specialist fees non pharmac funded medication.Any additional charges will be discussed with prospective residents or their families prior to admission. Please contact Manager for further details.
