A Guide to Aged Residential Care A Guide to Aged Residential Care A Guide to Aged Residential Care

Care at Metlifecare is deeply personal and always personalised.

Our Aged Residential Care supports every resident to live a fulfilling life in a safe and welcoming setting that feels like home.

We take time to get to know you, so we can better support and care for you. We’ll develop a personalised care plan with you – to understand your preferences and help you to continue doing the things you love.

Your friends and family will always be welcome to spend time with you, and they can join in for meals and celebrations as well as pop in for a cup of tea and chat.

The need for care can be unpredictable, making it hard to guarantee that a care place will be available at times. Although we can’t always control availability, we encourage you to get in touch - we are here to help. People come first, always. That’s our Care Promise.

CARE AT THE AVENUES

Our spacious care home has been designed to be just that – a real home, where the choices and preferences of our residents are paramount.

It starts with our layout, which is very different from the care facilities of old. Our care home residents live in smaller family-like groups of no more than fifteen. Each group’s area is decorated in different colours, and most of our bright and friendly individual rooms are well positioned for views and sunshine.

Every room has easy access to the group’s shared kitchen, dining and lounge area. This light and comfortable living space feels just like stepping into a family home, where residents, their family and friends can relax together.

When it comes to dining, residents have real options – whether to have their main meal during the day or evening, and the time they’d like to have it, as well as a choice of menu options. They can decide how and where they dine – together in their group’s dining room, or with residents in other groups or in their own rooms, if they feel tired or unwell.

And we’re throwing away the rulebook for things like showering (how often and when); times to rise in the morning and go to bed at night; and activities to take part in. These and other choices are firmly in residents’ hands.

And, as you’d expect, there is 24-hour support and assistance on hand from familiar, caring and professional staff in a safe and secure environment.
