Our modern, purpose-built Care Centre offers a range of care services designed to meet the level of care you need. Our friendly and professionally trained Care Centre staff are supervised by registered nurses, available on-site 24 hours a day.

Summerset on the Coast offers round-the-clock hospital level care. Our hospital suites are comfortable and homely and our residents can expect to be looked after in a warm and caring way.

In March 2017 Summerset on the Coast achieved another four year certification period. The Dining room and lounge area have recently been refurbished and are looking bright and homely. Our bedrooms are large with no additional costs.

Nurse Practitioner Yes We can access the Community Nurse Practitioner as needed.
Registered Nurse Yes Registered nurses are on duty 24 hours per day.
Enrolled Nurse Yes We have 2 Enrolled Nurses, each having over 20 years nursing experience in Aged Care.
Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers Yes On duty and here to care 24 hours per day- all our staff complete Careerforce National Certificates.
Physiotherapist Yes A physiotherapist is part of our multidisciplinary team, referrals to specialist services as required.
Occupational Therapist Negotiable We have access to the Occupational Therapist on a referral basis.
Own Social Worker No Referral support to Wellelder.
Diversional Therapist Yes We have a fully qualified Diversional Therapist. 45.5 hours per week.
Activities Co-ordinator Yes Our activities programme is available to all in the Care Centre who wish to be involved.
Hairdresser Yes Hairdressing salon is open 2 days per week. Appointments are made.
Podiatrist Yes Our Podiatry service is available once a month by appointment.
Dietitian Yes Our menu is dietitian approved.
Accredited Visitors No We have a relationship with Aged Concern Kapiti.
Kaumatua Yes Our local Kaumatua has written our Maori Health plan and is available to provide cultural support.
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor Yes We have monthly Catholic services in the Care Centre. We also have an Anglican Chaplain Service, this wonderful team provides end of life support, grief and spiritual support at any time. Regular worship and communion.
Other Personnel Yes We have an in-house Property Team to assist if needed. The Ear Health Nurse has a clinic every second month.
