Given the current COVID-19 environment we have temporarily disabled our ‘feedback’ feature. We apologise for any inconvenience.

To provide a caring and safe environment which people will find supportive and homely.

We believe the following to be of critical importance:

Each person is unique in their own right. Each person has physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual and cultural needs to be addressed on an individual and on-going basis.

Homestead Ilam is a community. Residents, family, staff and wider contacts form part of this community and we all share responsibility in maintaining it.

Residents have the right to achieve optimum quality of life regardless of their age, gender, sexuality or any life changing condition they may have.

Promoting independence and allowing the person to function autonomously when making decisions and achieving goals in all aspects of daily living, within the bounds of safety and capacity.

Details about Meals All of our meals are cooked in our own kitchen and our menu is assessed regularly by a qualified dietitian. We cater for all types of diets, as well as allergies. We take into account individual likes and dislikes and always offer an alternative meal when necessary. We provide a full cooked, main meal for lunch and a selection of sandwiches, fruit, soup and light meals for tea. We feel this gives the residents a chance to digest their food properly during the afternoon.

All of our nurses are registered as is our Diversional Therapist. We have level 3 and 4 Health and Well being trained support workers as well as staff working towards these.
